Community acupuncture is acupuncture therapy in a group setting. It is a very common treatment setting in East Asian countries and is gaining more popularity in the west. Acupuncture is an amazing medicinal therapy but like most things it takes continued work to see major changes. Just like you don’t go to the gym, work out once, and expect to be buff; it is unlikely that a single acupuncture treatment will magically cure you. This is where community acupuncture shines. A reduced price allows for consistent acupuncture therapy which leads to the transformational results that we look for.
Is Community Acupuncture for everyone?
While community acupuncture is likely to be a part of most peoples course of treatment it is not right for every situation. Private sessions are not only private, but allow for more one on one time with the practitioner and for the use of other modalities like tui na (medical massage), moxa, cupping and gua sha. So, who should NOT start with community acupuncture.
- First time patients
- Musculoskeletal aliments
- Sensitive mental-emotional matters
